About our hotel

Hotel L’Eau Vive is located in a building with a rich history, in the middle of greenery on the banks of the Semois River. The building has its origins in the early 1900s, when a bolt factory was located here. In the 1930s, it became part of the region’s tobacco history, as a tobacco factory owned by the Denoncin family. The waters of the little river Rau Ruaumoulin then drove the machinery through a mill wheel to chop the tobacco. The old channels and wheel are still visible next to the hotel and are a reminder of this time.

After a period as a warehouse for tobacco, the building was given a new purpose. Today L’Eau Vive is an attractive hotel with 29 rooms and 5 wooden chalets, where we have carefully preserved the authentic elements. Here the past comes together with comfort, tranquility and personal attention to each guest.

Hotel L’Eau Vive is all about tranquility, hospitality and enjoyment. In addition to comfortable rooms and chalets, the hotel offers several fine places to get together, relax or start the day actively.

In the cozy breakfast room you will enjoy a rich breakfast buffet every morning. In the evening, you are welcome to visit the hotel’s restaurant, which also serves outdoors in fine weather on the sunny terrace at the front of the hotel, overlooking the village and the surrounding nature. Here you will enjoy a tasty dinner, prepared with seasonal products and regional dishes.

At the rear of the hotel is a second terrace, right on the water. This is a unique place to quietly enjoy a cup of coffee or a good glass of wine in the open air. When the weather is nice, you can stay here all day, on the terrace or on the sunbathing area by the river.

Inside, the lounge with fireplace invites you to recover after an active day. There you can read a book, play a game or just relax and enjoy the warmth and the view of the greenery. There is also an authentic bar, where you can go for an aperitif, a local beer or a drink at the end of the day.

Whether you choose to be active outdoors or seek peace and quiet, the atmosphere at the hotel is always casual and personal, with plenty of room to enjoy yourself in your own way.
